Chinese Medevac G550

Further to my last post, Gulfstream have just delivered a G550 to the Beijing Red Cross Emergency Medical Center. Fitted out to not just transport patients but to keep them alive thanks to the advanced systems installed. An incubator and x-ray machine is just part of the kit. This organisation also operates Falcon 2000LX B-1999 plus various helicopters. More details at gulfstreamnews.com

Chinese news

Good to see yet another Chinese G650 preparing to deliver. N620GD (6320) was caught returning to Long Beach by Michael Carter recently.
On the debit side though, 3 G650s destined for Deer Jet seem to be going nowhere. The Hainan Group (HNA) which includes Deer Jet are in debt of an eye watering amount so new aircraft deliveries are likely on hold. Although 6286 was registered 2-DEER, the lack of any sightings in more than 2 months suggests this never left Savannah.

Round-up 8/8

G650 N651GA (6251) was cancelled to China on the 3rd and should have taken up B-3278. G650 N1901G (6257) was delivered Long Beach-Portland-Salt Lake City-Oakland on the 4th where it will be based with Chevron. G550 N553GD (5553) which was cancelled to Taiwan per the FAA last month may not have. It is believed to have gone to Mainland China as B-3239 (see link)
G650 N312ZW (6256) took up it's registration recently and did a flight Savannah-Augusta-Savannah on the 7th. Possibly another one to be China based. Also of note was the arrival of G650 B-56789 (6152) in Amsterdam which was caught by Ian Saunders (below). Finally, a 15th G500 was added to the register.

Stunning Chinese G650 identified

Michael Carter has just sent me this picture of G650 N606GA (6266) at Long Beach yesterday in this stunning Heilan scheme. This was reported in this blog in May but the identity was unknown then. Another shot just added to the Zenfolio photo site.

G650 receives Chinese type certificate

It has been announced today that the CAAC has issued a type certificate for the G650 and G650ER. See aviationnews.eu It will be interesting to see if any Chinese based G650s on other registers will transfer to the B register. One suspects it won't be long before we see something happen.

Chinese market share of G650

There are currently 26 G650s based in China (including Hong Kong and Macau). There are a further 14 based in the Far East which represents about a fifth of all G650s delivered to date. This is therefore a vitally important market for the folks at Savannah. This figure is sure to increase this year. VP-CCW (6122) was caught by Keith Blackham at Luton earlier this week returning to Hong Kong.
