Gulfstream selected for Compass Call replacement

L3 Communications has been chosen to supply the contract for the replacement of 14 Lockheed EC-130H Hercules in the Compass Call role which is basically a communications jammer. L3 will use the G550 which will be designated EC-37B in service. This has obviously upset Boeing and Bombardier who are likely to raise legal objections as L3 selected the Gulfstream rather than the US Government. See defensenews.com and af.mil for more info.
