Round-up 22/1

Another quiet week. G550 N588GA (5588) appears to have made it's first flight from Savannah on the 14th using the callsign GLF74. G280 N267GA (2167) ferried Tel Aviv to Stansted on the 15th. G650 N1895T returned from Savannah to Long Beach on the 18th following a test flight. Whispers about the next generation of G280 are surfacing. See AINonline
G5 N514GV that I reported as cancelling to the Isle of Man is becoming a bit of a mystery. It has not appeared on their register and I've dropped them a line but to date have not heard back. I'm wondering if some tired unpaid FAA clerk has entered the wrong country. Have previously seen a G450 as cancelled to Australia that actually went to Austria. This suggests to me that it's a drop down list and the IoM may be an error for either Ireland or Israel. The latest Irish update as at 31st December shows nothing so it might have gone to Israel. Any better ideas most welcome.
With the World Economic Forum (WEF) starting today, am expecting a lot of Gulfstreams to be heading that way. Unfortunately, I'm not this year but wish those who go well.

WEF Gulfstreans 2018

Have just returned from Zurich to catch the movements for the annual World Economic Forum. As usual, lots of Gulfstreams were present. My pictures will appear on Flickr in due course and they can be seen at the usual link top right of this page. May take a few days though. The weather went from pouring rain to nice sunshine and fortunately it was the latter when I did a ramp tour.

G650s at the World Economic Forum

When 3 G650s turned up for the 2013 WEF and there were only 6 in service at the time, it was clear that this model would be popular here as the sort of people who attend usually have access to a top-end jet. This year, 22 G650s appeared during the 5 days that I was at Zurich (Monday to Friday) and I can see this total increasing as years go by. This figure does not include some parked at Altenrhein or Dubendorf that never actually appeared at Zurich.
Pictures of 17 of the 22 can be seen in my Flickr album. Link at top right of main blog.

Gulfstream Photography

The keener amongst us head to Zurich each January to catch the movements for the annual World Economic Forum. Ramp tours can be booked through Buchair where amazing access can be had.
