It's a funny old game

In an age where most private jet owners keep a low profile and go for an uninspiring paint job, fortunately a few break the mould. The Sultan of Johor (and family) is one. His G550 9M-TMJ (5493) started off with a very nice scheme. This was then transferred to the football team The Southern Tigers (JDT) and painted up in their colours with a new registration of 9M-JJJ. Not sure what happened but looks like this fell through as it appeared yesterday in a variation of the original scheme. Certainly keeping the painters at Long Beach in work.

2nd Johor G650 identified

At the end of last year, a black G650 was seen at Long Beach carrying 9M-TMJ. At the same time, 9M-ZZZ was seen here so there was a lot of rubbing of eyes. It has now been identified by Michael Carter as N639GA (6239) as it was towed across the field yesterday.

The Sultan's G550 arrives at Stansted

3 years after the Sultan of Johor's G4 arrived at Stansted causing much excitement, his G550 arrived there today for the first time. Due to be upgraded again to a G650 soon, this G550 has been reported as being handed over to the Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) football team next year which will become the first Malaysian team to have their own private jet.  Click to see my arrival shot

Malaysian G650 flies

G650 N616GA (6216) did it's first flight yesterday after being painted. This has previously been seen as 9M-ZZZ which it will take up upon delivery. Thanks again to Michael Carter as always for this lovely picture.

New G650 for the Sultan of Johor

Michael Carter has sent me a shot of a recent G650 out of the paint shop at Long Beach. 9M-ZZZ is in the scheme of the Sultan of Johor. It will replace his G550 9M-TMJ (5493) which has been reported as being donated to a local football club next year. An earlier Gulfstream of his was G4 9M-ISJ (1106)
