Random Gulfstream photo #17

George Lucas' G550 N138GL (5476) arrived at Farnborough this morning from Perugia in Italy. It was captured by Westleigh Bushell. Certainly a distinctive colour.

New US Coast Guard G5?

Have received a report that there may be a new United States Coast Guard Gulfstream in service. Have seen nothing visual but flight trackers show that a GLF5 with a callsign of C202 and a hex code of AE5F07 has been visiting Washington (DCA) recently. I am aware of 2 in service. These are 01 (con 653) which has a hex code of AE10C1 and uses the callsign C101 and 02 (con 638) which has a hex code of AE4E05 and uses the callsign C102. It's possible that the codes have been changed so any visual confirmation of a new one would be appreciated.

Update: I have now seen a picture on Facebook of G550 N640W (5416) in full Coast Guard scheme and another of it carrying 02 on the tail. I am advised that G5 02 was leased so presumably will be returned upon the delivery of the new 02.

G550 production continues

Another 20 G550s have recently been added to the US register (5561 to 5580). Reports on AIN Online suggest that there is still a 12 month backlog for this model. Not quite sure how many this means but looks like there's still plenty of life left in the G550.

The Sultan's G550 arrives at Stansted

3 years after the Sultan of Johor's G4 arrived at Stansted causing much excitement, his G550 arrived there today for the first time. Due to be upgraded again to a G650 soon, this G550 has been reported as being handed over to the Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) football team next year which will become the first Malaysian team to have their own private jet.  Click to see my arrival shot

Malaysian G550 seen at LGB

Thanks as always to Michael Carter for this shot of G550 9M-TMJ (con 5493) at Long Beach yesterday. Appears to carry the flag of the State of Johor so may be replacing a certain G4.

Thai flag spotted at LGB

G550 N580GA (5480) was caught by Michael Carter carrying a Thai flag on the tail. This currently has N550KP reserved so will be interesting to see if this appears on the Thai register or not.
UPDATE N580GA cancelled to Thailand on 9th December so N550KP not taken up.
Delivered through Luton 13/14 Dec as HS-KPI. See my picture

Another British G550 arrives

About time we had a non G650 related post so taking advantage of this shot sent to me by Eric Denison of G-NOYA (5420) arriving at Farnborough this morning on delivery from Savannah via Ronaldsway. This frame was previously seen at Long Beach painted as G-GENT so presumably this was not taken up.

UPDATE: Cancelled to Austria 28/01/2016 as OE-IPE
